It is my proud privilege to get an opportunity to serve our Alma Mater and the esteemed fellow alumni community. I am immensely thankful to all those who entrusted me with this vital responsibility.

Following the Annual General Meeting on December 23, 2018, where the baton was officially handed over to the new Executive Committee, our primary objective was immediately set: to completely re‑design the Alumni Website and establish a dynamic, self‑updating database with individual edit capabilities for every alumnus. Today, I am proud to announce that this vision is a reality.

While our Association has launched several pivotal initiatives over the past years (detailed across our navigation portals), our greatest ongoing mission remains bridging the gap with alumni who are not yet connected to our network. Having every chemical engineering graduate on board is the foundational prerequisite for cultivating an unstoppable, world-class community.

The vibrancy of any institution is directly proportional to the active participation of its members. Although our roster spans thousands of distinguished engineers globally, only around 400 alumni were able to attend Reunion 2018. I earnestly invite our younger alumni to step forward. While alumni associations are traditionally perceived as domains for senior veterans, our modern reality demands the boundless energy, digital fluency, and sheer numerical strength of our recent graduating batches. We need a harmonious synergy of seasoned wisdom and youthful dynamism.

Furthermore, I strongly appeal to our global diaspora to establish formal **Local Chapters** in any city worldwide boasting 20 or more alumni. Local chapters serve as the indispensable nervous system of our global network, driving regional mentorship, industrial symposiums, and collaborative research workshops.

Our Department and Calcutta University have played a monumental role in shaping our professional identities. Returning our gratitude—whether through knowledge sharing, academic endowment, or student mentorship—is both a profound honor and a lifelong privilege.

We currently publish a quarterly newsletter, with the ambitious goal of transitioning to a rich monthly chronicle. This is entirely achievable if every chapter and alumnus actively submits their career milestones, technological breakthroughs, and regional updates. Let us flood our editorial desk with such excellence that curating each edition becomes an inspiring challenge.
